The image you see above shows the LG G Flex 2, the South Korean phone maker’s new smartphone that sports a flexible curved screen that goes back to its original curved form once flattened out. It also comes with a self-healing back cover. Its predecessor the LG G Flex also comes with this feature, but this year’s iteration can do it better. Check out the video below from PhoneArena.
In the video, LG simulates the daily wear and tear smartphones go through by scratching the rear cover of the G Flex 2 with steel brushes. After just 10 seconds, the unsightly dents and scratches made the steel brushes vanished.
How is this possible? LG developed poly-resin, a special polymer, that is more efficient in healing dents and scratches compared to the conventional UV-coated casings.
